Employers often support matching gift programs to inspire their employees to engage in philanthropy. They'll match donations -- or volunteer hours -- made by their employees, retirees, and sometimes even employees’ spouses.
Matching gifts from corporations provide SMAC donors with a fantastic opportunity to amplify your personal contributions to our organization, magnifying the effect of your generosity. Utilizing a company's matching gift program could potentially double or triple the original contribution amount, regardless of the donation size! Every contribution, no matter the sum, greatly supports our cause.
How does it work?
Consult your company’s Human Resources department to determine whether your employer provides a matching gift program.
If your company doesn't currently have a matching gift program, we encourage you to explore the possibility of initiating one!
Each company will maintain specific guidelines for employees, spouses, retirees, and even widows/widowers. If your employer offers this program, your HR department will supply details and guidance on how to complete a Matching Gifts request. Some companies use online portals, while others provide a form to be completed and sent to the designated organization. Completed forms, along with your personal gift, should be mailed to:
